15 अगस्त 2026 के आधिकारिक कार्यक्रमों में वंदे मातरम् के पूरे छह अंतरे गाने और उसके बाद राष्ट्रगान बजाने का प्रोटोकॉल बताया गया है। बिजनेस टुडे बाजार के अनुसार, पूरे गीत की अवधि करीब 3 मिनट 10 सेकंड है। वंदे मातरम् को 24 जनवरी 1950 को राष्ट्रगान जन गण मन के बराबर सम्मान और दर्जा दिया गया था। 25 मार्च 2026 को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गृह मंत्रालय के प्रोटोकॉल से जुड़ी याचिका खारिज करते हुए इसे सलाहकारी बताया। अदालत के अनुसार, वंदे मातरम् नहीं गाने पर कोई तय आपराधिक सजा नहीं है। कार्यक्रमों में सम्मानजनक व्यवहार और संस्थान के निर्देशों का पालन करने की सलाह दी गई है।
