About 150 citizens of Anantapur joined a clean-up drive on Sunday, removing nearly 5,000 kg of plastic and other waste from the heavily polluted Tungabhadra High Level Canal (HLC). The drive, organised by Discover Ananthapuram, Rotary Club of Anantapur, SR Defence Academy and city youth, saw volunteers extract around six tractor-loads of garbage from the canal and its surroundings.
