Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 1994 film 1942: A Love Story will re-release in a restored 8K version on August 21, 2026, with Dolby 5.1 sound, ABP Live reports. The trailer is out. Starring Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala, the romantic drama set during the freedom struggle also features Jackie Shroff and Anupam Kher. Prasad Corp, Prasad Film Labs and L’Immagine Ritrovata in Bologna carried out the restoration work.
