# Red Fort gets layered security, 20,000 personnel for I-Day

New Delhi: Delhi Police has put the Red Fort under multi-layered security for Independence Day, deploying 15,000 to 20,000 personnel and nearly 1,000 CCTV cameras, including facial recognition-enabled ones, The New Indian Express reports. The Abhigyan app, with a database of over one crore criminals, is being used to screen the crowd, and police are collecting fingerprints of randomly selected people to check against records. Snipers and anti-drone systems have also been positioned. Separately, police have launched a cybersecurity audit of the CCTV cameras after busting a spying racket allegedly linked to Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti and the ISI, The Times of India reports. Rooftops with security personnel have risen from 268 to 338, and the area is divided into eight zones. Borders will be sealed around 10 pm on August 12 for the full dress rehearsal and reopened at 11 am on August 13. On August 14, borders stay sealed until the August 15 celebrations end.
