# 26 locations linked to banned Jamaat-e-Islami raided in Sopore

At least 26 locations in Sopore, Baramulla district, were searched on Sunday by police and security forces in a UAPA case against the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI). The coordinated raids targeted an alleged underground network of the outfit, which was banned by the central government. The searches were conducted at residential houses linked to JeI associates. A case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act was registered by Sopore police. The operation was jointly carried out by probe agencies and security forces, India Today and The Hindu report.
