# 3 kanwariyas killed in Punjab road accident, driver flees

Three Kanwariyas were killed and one injured after a speeding car hit their vehicle from behind near a petrol pump in Sirhind, Punjab, early Sunday. Police identified the deceased as Jagdish Mittal (40), Mahinder Pal (43), and Deepak Kumar (42), all from Faridkot district. The car's number plate fell off as the driver fled the scene. Other Kanwariyas staged a sit-in protest demanding immediate arrest. Police have registered a case and are trying to trace the vehicle and driver. The accident occurred during the Kanwar Yatra, which started July 30 and ends August 11.
