Forty two members of the Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) were taken into preventive custody on Monday morning (July 7) as they attempted to reach the residence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

West Zone DCP S.M. Vijay Kumar said police had deployed bandobast after receiving information about the planned visit. The representatives allegedly wanted to mount pressure on the government into addressing their long-pending demands, including the immediate release of fee reimbursement arrears and disbursement of pending scholarships.

“The individuals were detained near the entry point to the CM’s residence and taken into preventive custody,” the officer confirmed.
