A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district at 5.45 am on 6 August, the National Center for Seismology reported. It occurred at a depth of 11 km, with the epicentre 116 km north-northwest of Pangin. Officials reported no immediate casualties or property damage. The quake followed three smaller tremors measuring 2.8, 3.2 and 2.8 magnitude before dawn. A 3.5-magnitude aftershock was recorded at 7.17 am. Authorities continued monitoring the situation.
