# 5,000-year-old Spanish tomb yields ivory, amber and seashells

Archaeologists from the University of Cádiz have uncovered a remarkably well-preserved megalithic tomb near Teba in Málaga, southern Spain. The structure, known as Dolmen I of the La Lentejuela necropolis, stretches 13 metres and contains multiple burial compartments, human remains and grave goods including ivory, amber, seashells and flint artefacts. The discovery suggests prehistoric communities in southern Iberia were connected to wider exchange networks. Tomb co-director Eduardo Vijande said the condition could help researchers learn more about lifestyle and rituals. Researchers plan further analysis to determine the origin of the ivory and amber.
