Inc42's FY26 Financial Tracker reveals that 53 of 73 listed startups turned profitable in the fiscal year. The cohort generated Rs 2.74 lakh crore in operating revenue, a 48.2% year-on-year jump. However, the 20 loss-making firms posted a combined net loss of Rs 17,848.6 crore, exceeding the Rs 12,543.7 crore net profit of the profitable ones, underscoring uneven financial health. On the IPO front, 18 startups raised a record Rs 41,248 crore in 2025. In 2026, eight have debuted so far, but most listings have been flat or lacklustre. Yet 29 companies have filed DRHPs with SEBI, including OYO and InMobi, keeping the pipeline strong. Investors are now focusing on fundamentals and sustainable cash flows over headline growth.
