The phone reportedly had Netflix, Instagram, WhatsApp and Amazon Prime Video, with the apps password-protected. Rai claimed the phone, charger and pen drive were his and said he used them to contact relatives and his lawyer. Revanna said he had also used the phone for calls. The CCB has filed a complaint under the Karnataka Prisons (Amendment) Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions. Assistant Superintendent Iranna Rangapur was suspended and the prison superintendent received a show-cause notice. The Times of India reports that nearly 100 personnel took part in the raid.
