The dispute began on Monday over vehicle movement on a common internal road and flared up again outside an apparel unit. The garment firm's complaint alleged that around 50 drivers linked to a neighbouring confectionery unit abused staff, pelted stones, damaged property and assaulted workers with iron rods, and that female staff were molested. The neighbouring firm claimed its delivery drivers were attacked first by apparel unit employees. Anandapur police registered FIRs after both sides accused each other of assault, stone-pelting and rioting. Police have booked named accused from both sides under relevant BNS sections and are examining CCTV footage.
