A 44-year-old man stabbed his elderly parents to death at Kommady in Alappuzha, Kerala, on Thursday night. The deceased have been identified as Thankarajan, 68, and his wife Agnus, 67.
The police have recorded the arrest of Babu, son of the victims, in connection with the murder. Though Babu left the house after committing the double murder, the police soon nabbed him.
The police said the accused committed the twin murder while under the influence of alcohol. “A quarrel broke out between Babu and his parents on Thursday night. The accused stabbed the couple with a weapon,” said an official.
The bodies of the couple were shifted to the morgue of Government Medical College Hospital, Alappuzha.
