Two weeks after playing the concluding match of the I-League and finishing on top, Churchill can now finally celebrate their third I-League triumph as the appeals committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday allowed an appeal from

Namdhari FC

to stand.
The order means Inter Kashi — which had three points after winning a protest against Namdhari for fielding an ineligible player — will finish with 39 points, one less than champions Churchill.
The I-League triumph takes Churchill to the top-tier Indian Super League (ISL) on sporting merit.
“We were always the champions, nobody could take the title away from us,” team owner
