Sunday is here, and so is our list of movies that are slated to release in the theatres this week. From Maqam and Mickey 17 to Bengali-language horror movie Grihostho, the list will pique your interest.

Maqam

A cinematic tribute to the art of fighting, directed by Sachiin Shettyy. The film features Maayur Jitt Singh and Tom Alter in the lead roles. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on March 7.

Mickey 17

It is based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. Wanting to get off Earth, the financially destitute Mickey Barnes signs up to be an “expendable”, a disposable clone worker, on the human colony Nilfheim. As an expendable, Mickey undertakes several dangerous assignments he is not expected to survive, with a new body being regenerated each time he dies. The film stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role, alongside Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. It will hit the theatres on March 7.

The Monkey

Based on Stephen King’s 1980 short story, the horror flick follows twin brothers whose lives are turned upside down by a cursed toy monkey that causes random horrific deaths around them. The film stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien and Rohan Campbell. The movie will release in India on March 7.

Address

It is an upcoming action drama based on a real-life incident in 1956 involving the struggles of a village on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border during the state reorganization. The film stars Esakki Barath in the lead role alongside Atharvaa in an extended cameo appearance. The film also features Pooja Jhaveri, Dhiya and Thambi Ramaiah in the supporting roles. It will release on March 7.

Asthram – The Secret

A series of suspicious suicide cases raises questions when all victims are found with self-inflicted stab wounds. Determined to uncover the truth, Akilan convinces the police commissioner to let him investigate with rookie officer Sumanth. As they dig deeper, chilling connections emerge, leading Akilan to a shocking revelation. The movie stars Shaam, Nira Ashokan, Venba and Nizhalgal Ravi.

Rakashasa

A Brahmarakshasa demon, sealed in a box, accidentally lands in a police station’s evidence room, unleashing chaos. Suspended cop Sathya must confront the demon, survive its wrath, and uncover a conspiracy against him. As the demon’s power grows, Sathya’s dark past resurfaces. Can he defeat the evil within and around him? The Kannada starrer stars Prajwal Devaraj, Sonal Monteiro and K S Sridhar in the lead roles. The movie will release on March 7.

Grihostho

Struggling with personal trauma, a woman becomes convinced that her neighbour is involved in something sinister. But as her own mind plays tricks on her, she must determine whether what she sees is real or just a product of her imagination. The movie which will release on March 7 stars Ritabhari Chakraborty, Sourav Das and Aryann Bhowmik.
