Medical and Health Minister Damodar Raja Narsimha praised the ‘people’s government’ led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for transforming agriculture into a festival in the State.
Speaking at the Rythu Panduga (farmers’ festival) celebrations organised at the Rythu Vedika in Sangupeta village under the Andole agricultural cluster in Sangareddy district, the Minister said that the government has stood by the farmers in the State by crediting ₹9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa (financial assistance) scheme within 9 days, a feat unmatched by any other State.
Mr. Raja Narsimha further stated that ₹383.48 crore has been deposited into the accounts of 3,12,879 farmers in Sangareddy district under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He emphasised that the public government in the State is working tirelessly to ensure the welfare of farmers, to make agriculture a festival where farmers are the beneficiaries. Notably, 95% of farmers in the district have already been provided with Rythu Bharosa, and efforts are under way to extend the assistance to the remaining 5%.
On the occasion, Congress activists and farmers conducted Palabhishekam (anointing the portrait with milk) to the portrait of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Rythu Panduga celebrations were also conducted in several parts of the State, where public representatives and farmers participated.
