The First Bell digital classes for students from Classes I to X, based on the revised textbooks, will begin broadcasting on the KITE VICTERS channel from July 9, Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has said.
Speaking via video conferencing at a workshop organised by the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) for high school head teachers in Alappuzha, on Sunday, Mr. Sivankutty said that the digital classes had been prepared as additional support for students. The programme was held at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ambalappuzha, as part of the Samagra Shiksha quality improvement project to introduce academic monitoring platform.
As many as 192 high school head teachers from across the district attended the workshop.
KITE chief executive officer K. Anvar Sadath said that all teachers across the State would be given training in July itself, and that the digital platform for academic monitoring and student mentoring would become fully operational in a manner accessible even to parents.
The method of using the Samagra Plus portal for planning and monitoring the implementation of academic master plans was explained at the workshop. The Samagra Plus portal, developed by the KITE, includes features that enable monitoring and providing guidance from top to bottom level.
Through the portal (www.samagra.kite.kerala.gov.in), teachers can prepare and store digital plans and submit them to head teachers. In addition, the digital resources available on the portal can be effectively used by both students and parents through the ‘Learning Room’ feature. ..
