In another post, Stalin criticised Centre for RBI’s decision to allow banks to increase ATM withdrawal charges to Rs 23 per transaction beyond the monthly limit. “The poorest will be the ones hit the hardest,” he said, pointing out that the affected groups include beneficiaries of MGNREGS and Tamil Nadu’s Kalaignar Mahalir Urimai Thogai scheme.
“This is not digitisation. This is institutionalised extraction,” he further said, adding, “The poor swipe, the rich smile.”
