# Partner arrested 7 months after Indian-origin woman’s murder in Toronto

Toronto police arrested Abdul Ghafoori, 32, at a Toronto airport on August 7 and charged him with first-degree murder for the killing of his partner, Himanshi Khurana, 30, an Indian national. Her body was found inside a residence in December 2025 after a missing person report. The two were in an intimate partner relationship, CP24 reported, citing police. Police did not disclose which country Ghafoori had fled to after the murder. They said they worked with national and international partners to bring him back. Khurana was Toronto’s 40th homicide victim of 2025. The Indian Consulate in Toronto said it was deeply saddened and was assisting the family.
