# Abhishek Sharma hits century, Yuvi teases over fastest fifty 2026-10-27T13:00:56+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Abhishek Sharma smashed a 35-ball century against New Zealand in the third T20I in Wellington on Tuesday, 27 October, steering India to a six-wicket win and an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. Chasing 199, India overhauled the target in 13.2 overs. Abhishek hit 11 sixes and nine fours in his 113 off 38 balls, while opening partner Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 45 off 19. After the match, former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, Abhishek's mentor, teased the young batter for not breaking his own record of the fastest T20 half-century, scored in 12 balls in 2007. Abhishek laughed off the jibe, saying 'it is not easy' to score 50 in 12 balls and that 'it happens only sometimes'. India's powerplay total of 118 for no loss set a new record for the highest score in the first six overs of a T20 innings. Abhishek credited the coaching team, especially training with sidearm deliveries, for his preparation. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both amarujala.com and tv9hindi.com carry straight, neutral match reports with near-identical facts: Abhishek's 35-ball hundred, India's 3-0 series lead, and Yuvraj's playful dig. amarujala.com leads with the teasing angle but adds no analysis, tv9hindi.com includes Abhishek's full retort and quotes him crediting the coaching staff. Neither outlet takes a stance, coverage is uniform. The notable point is the record powerplay score (118 in six overs), which both reports confirm but do not contextualise. With two matches left in the series, the concrete item to track is whether India completes a 5-0 sweep in the remaining games. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - amarujala.com (neutral report) Straight match report, leads with Yuvraj's tease - tv9hindi.com (neutral report) Detailed neutral report, includes player quotes This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
