# About Us

## One brief instead of twenty tabs

Indian news is covered by hundreds of outlets, and on any story that matters several of them will file within the same few hours. Read one and you get one newsroom's framing. Read all of them and you spend your morning on it. Indian Opinion exists to remove that choice: we read the reporting across outlets and publish a single brief that carries what all of them said, with each outlet's version attributed.

The aim is that the brief genuinely substitutes for opening every tab. Not a summary of one article, and not a headline round up, but one account of the story built from all the reporting we could find on it.

## What is in an article

- **The Story in Brief.** A factual retelling assembled from every sourced report on the story. Where outlets disagree on a number, a sequence or a cause, the brief says which outlet reported what instead of quietly picking one.

- **Indian Opinion Analysis.** A short read comparing how the outlets framed the same events: what a framing overstates, what it leaves out, and what the whole set of reporting supports. It takes no party's side and ends with something concrete to watch.

- **Sources.** Every original report, credited by outlet and linked, so you can go straight to the reporting underneath.

## We publish less than we could

A story is published only when at least two distinct outlets have reported it. Single source stories are held, not published, until a second newsroom corroborates them. The exception is service journalism, where the fact is the whole value: exam dates and results, recruitment notifications, prices, fares, transport disruption and local incidents. Those publish on one sourced report.

Daily output is capped well below what the system could generate. Volume was the mistake we are correcting, and a brief that nobody needed is worse than no brief at all. The full rules are in the [Editorial Policy](/editorial-policy/).

## India focused, in English

Every story is scored for how materially it concerns India and Indians, judged on substance rather than on whether the word India appears or on where the outlet is based. Anything that does not clear the bar is not published. The site publishes in English. Machine translated editions in eight Indian languages were discontinued in September 2026.

## How it is made, and by whom

Briefs and analysis are generated by AI from the sourced reporting, and articles are not read by a person before they go live. We say that plainly rather than imply a newsroom we do not have. Indian Opinion is a content publication and distribution brand owned by Great Indian Company. Ownership does not set editorial direction here: what gets covered and how is decided under the Editorial Policy, independent of the parent company's other interests. Editorial is headed by Ramakrishnan Lokanathan, Founder and Editor of Indian Opinion. He also founded Great Indian Company, and is accountable for the source list, the rules above, and everything published under this masthead.

## How it is funded

Indian Opinion is funded by Great Indian Company, its owner, with no advertising, sponsored content or paid placement, and no commercial relationship with the outlets it summarises. ## Older articles

Older articles from before the current standards were withdrawn in September 2026 pending an editorial review, and are restored only once they pass it. Some restored articles are readable again for people and for AI systems but are kept out of search engine indexes until the review clears them. An address that has not yet passed review continues to return 410 Gone.
