# Actor Shobhinaw Satyaa hails Captain Smit Machchhar for Hanuman Chalisa 2026-10-11T08:02:42+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Hanuman Ansh actor Shobhinaw Satyaa has praised Flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar for reciting the Hanuman Chalisa after being stabbed in the cockpit during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on 30 September. Satyaa told India Today that the captain’s account of his faith made believers’ faith ‘even more unshakeable’. Machchhar saved 174 passengers despite serious injuries. During a video call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi from his hospital bed, Machchhar said reciting the Hanuman Chalisa gave him courage. The aircraft went into a steep descent after the co-pilot’s attack. Passengers helped restrain the suspect, and the plane was diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. Authorities are investigating the incident. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Hindustan Times and Times Now lead with the actor’s praise and the pilot’s faith, framing the story around national pride and religious devotion rather than the safety or criminal investigation. Neither outlet scrutinises the co-pilot’s motive, the airline’s security protocols, or the cockpit door breach. The coverage is uniform, straight reporting of a feel-good angle, with identical quotes from Satyaa and Machchhar. A reader gets no independent detail on the investigation or regulatory response, only the hero narrative and the PM’s call. The concrete open item is the ongoing investigation by authorities, named in both sources. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) Straight news agency style, no slant on government or faith. - timesnownews.com (neutral report) Straight news agency style, no slant on government or faith.
