The share purchase agreement was executed on August 14, 2026, following AESL's announcement on July 24 that it had won a transmission project in Andhra Pradesh valued at around Rs 8,500 crore. The acquisition, which is not a related-party transaction, requires no government approvals. VPTL will build transmission infrastructure to supply up to 4,500 MW to proposed Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia projects in the Vizag area.
