# Ahmedabad cyber police arrest eight for online harassment of women

The Ahmedabad City Cyber Crime Branch has arrested eight people, including one woman, for allegedly harassing women through fake social media profiles, cyberstalking, and sending obscene content. The police have registered 11 FIRs based on complaints received under 'Mission Cyber Rakshika', an initiative launched in June this year to protect women from online harassment. Among those arrested, Suresh Puri is accused of creating ten fake IDs and contacting around 300 women. Another accused, Keyur Lakkad, allegedly created eight fake IDs in women's names to target their female friends. Police have formed a ten-member Cyber Rakshika Squad comprising women personnel to handle cyber complaints.
