# AIFF urges Tata group to reverse Jamshedpur FC’s ISL exit

AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey has appealed to the Tata group to reconsider withdrawing Jamshedpur FC from the Indian Super League. Tata Steel vice-president D B Sundara Ramam said the decision was planned and aimed at returning to grassroots football. He said it was unrelated to uncertainty over the ISL’s commercial future and would not be reconsidered. Tata Steel has promised to honour existing player contracts and help players find new clubs. Chaubey said the AIFF was open to suggestions and praised Tata’s contribution through the Tata Football Academy, which began in 1987. He said nearly 275 players had graduated from the academy.
