# AIFF asks Tata Group to reverse Jamshedpur FC’s ISL exit

The AIFF has urged the Tata Group to reconsider Jamshedpur FC’s withdrawal from the Indian Super League, after the club declined to pay the Rs 55 lakh participation fee for the 2026-27 season by the July 31 deadline. AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey said the decision should not be driven by the fee and appealed to Tata in the interest of players and Indian football. Tata Steel vice-president D.B. Sundara Ramam told The Hindu that the exit was a long-planned strategic decision, unrelated to the ISL’s commercial uncertainty or any disagreement with AIFF. He said Tata Steel would focus on grassroots programmes and the Tata Football Academy, which has trained around 275 cadets and reached nearly 6,700 children since 2017-18.
