# Walkathons in Andhra push organ donation awareness

AIIMS Mangalagiri held a walkathon and flash mob on Thursday to raise awareness about organ donation. Executive director Ahanthem Santa Singh and faculty joined the event, which began at 6 am from the IPD-OPD Junction. Separately, Narayana Medical College and Hospital in Nellore drew about 3,000 participants for a walk on World Organ Donation Day. Municipal Commissioner Y.O. Nandan flagged off the event and urged people to donate organs after death instead of letting them go to waste. District Medical Officer V. Sujatha said the aim was to educate the public and dispel misconceptions.
