# Ajinkya Rahane joins Amsterdam Flames for inaugural ETPL

Former India captain Ajinkya Rahane has signed as the marquee player for Amsterdam Flames in the inaugural European T20 Premier League, which is scheduled to begin on August 26. Rahane announced his retirement from international cricket and all formats on July 30, ending his domestic career with Mumbai and his IPL stint with Kolkata Knight Riders. The ETPL will feature six franchises based in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. Rahane is the second Indian player confirmed for the tournament after Ravichandran Ashwin, who has joined Dublin Guardians. Amsterdam Flames is co-founded by former Australia captain Steve Waugh. Its squad also includes Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith and Tim David, according to Telangana Today.
