Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Alia Bhatt has started shooting for the upcoming horror sequel Tumbbad 2, joining Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui on set. The makers constructed a 7-8 acre set resembling an entire city in Mumbai for the initial schedule. Photos showing Bhatt in a casual striped shirt and high ponytail surfaced online. The film marks Bhatt's first full-fledged project in the horror genre. She was welcomed to the franchise in July by actor-producer Sohum Shah. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is expected to play a significant role. Directed by Adesh Prasad, the sequel continues the folklore-driven story exploring greed, fear and human nature. Bollywood Hungama and Odisha TV both report that current shooting includes sequences set around a river and an old fort. The sequel, titled Tumbbad 2: Pralaya Ayega, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 3, 2027.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both sources deliver straight reporting with no political or ideological slant, typical for entertainment news. They agree on all key facts: Alia Bhatt joining the cast, the 7-8 acre set, the December 2027 release date, and shooting underway. The coverage is uniform and factual. For a careful reader, the main takeaway is the scale of production, a full city set suggests a significant budget increase from the original indie film, which may signal higher commercial ambitions for the franchise.
