Ameesha Patel did not bite when a fan on X compared Preity Zinta’s look in the upcoming film Batwara 1947 to her iconic character Sakina from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The fan said Preity was 'copying' Ameesha’s look. Instead of endorsing the jab, Ameesha replied with grace: 'Woh bhi bahut Khoobsurat hai bhai. Sakina wishes her the best.' The exchange has won praise from netizens for Ameesha’s refusal to fuel a rivalry. Both films are set during India’s Partition, but the makers of Batwara 1947 have said their story is distinct from Gadar. Ameesha’s Gadar remains a blockbuster; Gadar 2 also did huge business.
