Amitabh Bachchan hosted Commonwealth Games 2026 medallists Lovlina Borgohain, Asmita Dey, Jhandu Kumar and Sharmila Dhankar on the August 17 episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18. The athletes shared their sporting journeys and personal struggles on the hotseat. Asmita Dey, who won India's first Commonwealth Games gold in judo, said appearing on the show allowed her to share her story with a wider audience. She recalled watching KBC with her family growing up and described meeting Bachchan as a long-held dream. Sharmila Dhankar, India's first Commonwealth Games para-athletics gold medallist, called the invitation a national celebration of athletes' invisible struggles. Boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who won silver in the 75 kg category, compared the hotseat to the boxing ring, saying the pressure tested her mental sharpness in a different way. Jhandu Kumar, who won India's first medal in men's heavyweight para-powerlifting at Glasgow 2026, said his journey in sports lifted him to the KBC stage.
