# Amritpal’s jailed aides among 5 Waris Punjab De nominees

Waris Punjab De, the political outfit led by Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, has named five more candidates for the Punjab assembly elections. Among them are two jailed associates of Amritpal: Daljit Singh Kalsi (Ajnala) and Gurmeet Singh Bukanwala (Moga), both accused in the Ajnala police station attack case. They were earlier detained under the National Security Act at Dibrugarh jail in Assam. The other candidates are Darshan Singh Shivalik (Gill), Jagjit Singh alias Baba Jagga (Kapurthala), and Rachhpal Singh Sosan (Kotkapura). The party said five-member committees will run campaigns for the jailed candidates. The announcement follows the party's first candidate: Satwant Singh, son of Indira Gandhi's assassin Kehar Singh, from Bassi Pathana. Amritpal remains in Assam jail.
