Telugu actress Anasuya Bharadwaj is facing a police complaint after local BJP leaders approached the Borabanda Police Station in Hyderabad, alleging that her comments on the use of the slogan 'Jai Shri Ram' had hurt Hindu sentiments. The leaders have demanded legal action against her. Anasuya had earlier questioned people who chant 'Jai Shri Ram' while engaging in attacks. She clarified that she was criticising violence done in the name of Sanatana Dharma and not the religion itself. She said she follows Hinduism and respects all faiths, and that her words were being deliberately twisted. Police have received the complaint and are looking into the matter. No further legal action has been taken so far. This is not the first time the actress has faced controversy over her social media statements.
