Anil Kapoor has won the National Winner, Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his performance in ‘Subedaar’. The film also secured the Best Feature Film award for India at the awards, according to Bollywood Hungama. Gulf News reports Kapoor has been nominated for Best Actor, while director Suresh Triveni has been nominated for Best Direction. Kapoor plays retired soldier Arjun Maurya in the film, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 5. The Asian Academy Creative Awards announced 335 national winners from 18 countries across 39 categories. Kapoor will represent India at the Grand Gala Final in Singapore on December 3.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both sources cover the same film but differ on Kapoor’s status: Bollywood Hungama says he won the National Winner award, while Gulf News says he was nominated for Best Actor. The discrepancy may reflect the distinction between the national-level winner and the final Grand Gala competition. Gulf News adds director Suresh Triveni’s nomination, which Bollywood Hungama omits. The coverage is otherwise uniform straight reporting, with no evident slant. The concrete next step is the Grand Gala Final on December 3 in Singapore, where Kapoor will compete for the top prize.
