# Anirudh surprises Silambarasan on Arasan set as shoot resumes 2026-08-26T10:41:51+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Music composer Anirudh Ravichander made a surprise visit to the sets of Silambarasan’s upcoming film, Arasan, directed by Vetri Maaran. A video released by the makers shows Anirudh being welcomed by cinematographer Velraj and Vetri Maaran, before Silambarasan and producer Kalaipuli S Thanu join them. The film is described as an untold story from the world of Vetri Maaran’s 2018 film Vada Chennai. The shoot has resumed after a break, the producer confirmed. However, the film was initially slated for release this Diwali and speculation now points to a possible push to summer 2027. The makers have not officially confirmed any change. Arasan stars Vijay Sethupathi and Yogalakshmi, with Samuthirakani and Andrea Jeremiah reprising their roles from Vada Chennai. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both reports lead with the same video release and list the same cast and crew, sticking to straight wire-style coverage. Cinema Express frames the production delay prominently, directly stating the Diwali plan is uncertain and citing summer 2027 speculation. Times of India phrases the same fact as a speculation among fans, keeping the tone softer toward the makers. The balanced reading is that the production is clearly behind schedule, but no official confirmation exists. The makers' next announcement on the release window is the concrete item to watch. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - cinemaexpress.com (neutral report) Leads with the producer's shoot-resume update, then foregrounds the release delay and speculation about summer 2027 - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Casts the release delay as fan speculation, keeping the tone softer toward the makers This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
