# Anurag Kashyap hails Telugu debut Pallaburusu in five-star review 2026-08-18T13:35:28+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has given a five-star rating to the Telugu film *Pallaburusu*, calling it a refreshing Telugu dramedy on his Letterboxd and Instagram accounts. The debut film by Uday Chauhan revolves around an elderly man who files a police complaint against his adult son for refusing to buy him a toothbrush, set in rural Telangana. Kashyap compared Chauhan's arrival to that of acclaimed director Venkatesh Maha. Produced by Annapurna Studios and EPIC Studios, and presented by Nagarjuna, *Pallaburusu* released in theatres on August 14. Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud play the father and son. Kashyap praised the film for moving away from formulaic action-heavy films and for finding humour in an ordinary family dispute. The film is currently running in theatres. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both sources present the same story identically, as India Today is the sole source. There is no government angle, no political slant, and no editorialising beyond describing the film's plot. The story leans into celebrity endorsement (Anurag Kashyap's name) and the film's unusual premise (toothbrush dispute). The measured takeaway is that this is a standard entertainment-news item relying on a well-known director's stamp of approval.
