The Andhra Pradesh government has launched the Nethannala Sevalo scheme, offering Rs 25,000 a year to each eligible Below Poverty Line handloom weaver household from 2026-27. The assistance will be paid to the head of the family, with one benefit allowed per household regardless of the beneficiary’s age or the number of looms owned. The state says the money can be used for yarn, dyes, chemicals, loom modernisation, equipment replacement and repairs.
