# Arshad Nadeem Blames Glasgow Cold for Commonwealth Games Failure

Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem said cold conditions affected his run-up and performance at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The New Indian Express reported that Nadeem’s body became stiff despite being fit and healthy. He said his preparations in warm Pakistan did not fully prepare him for Glasgow’s weather. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Pahthirage won gold with a throw of 89.75 metres, while India’s Neeraj Chopra took silver at 85.83 metres and Yash Vir Singh finished third with 85.41 metres. NDTV reported that Nadeem was hurt by harsh social media comments after the result. He asked fans and media to keep supporting him before next month’s Asian Games.
