Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem will not compete in the Lausanne Diamond League on August 21, ending hopes of a clash with India’s Neeraj Chopra. Nadeem’s coach, Salman Butt, told PTI that the 28-year-old has chosen to train in South Africa instead, focusing on the Asian Games in Japan later this year. He is currently in Lahore awaiting a visa to travel to Potchefstroom, where he will train under Terseus Liebenberg for two weeks. Nadeem has struggled at two recent international meets and finished ninth in the Commonwealth Games final in Glasgow, where Chopra and Yash Vir Singh took silver and bronze.
