Ashmita Chaliha, 26, won her first BWF World Tour title at the Korea Masters on Sunday, beating China's fourth seed Han Qian Xi 14-21, 21-14, 21-14 in 53 minutes. The left-handed shuttler from Guwahati became the first Indian to win the Super 300 event. It was a comeback from a career-threatening medial meniscus tear in her right knee that required emergency surgery and months of rehabilitation in 2024. After the match, an emotional Ashmita said: "I feel really great and unbelievable... Now, I am hungry for more." She is the fifth Indian to win a BWF World Tour title this year.
