Ashmita Chaliha won her maiden BWF World Tour title on Sunday, beating China's fourth-seeded Han Qian Xi 14-21, 21-14, 21-14 in the Korea Masters Super 300 final in Asan. The 26-year-old from Assam dropped the first game but stormed back with powerful smashes and precise winners, sealing victory in 53 minutes. She is only the fifth Indian woman to win a Super 300 or higher title, joining Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Devika Sihag and Tanvi Sharma. Chaliha trains under Park Tae-Sang in Guwahati and returned from a knee injury that sidelined her for three months earlier this year. Her win follows Tanvi Sharma's Taipei Open title last Sunday, giving India back-to-back BWF Tour final wins.
