Haritha on Friday suspended panchayat secretary Shainy Thirupathi and sacked computer operator Neelesh for issuing a fake birth certificate at the Sirpur (T) mandal centre. The two officials entered the birth of Ponna Srinidhi on the unified portal for births and deaths even though her name was not registered in the physical birth register. An inquiry found them guilty of flouting norms, leading to the action.
