The schemes now cover more university years, polytechnic diploma students and students in the four-year undergraduate programme. Monthly support ranges from Rs 800 for female higher secondary students to Rs 2,500 for postgraduate and B.Ed students under Nijut Moina. Male students receive Rs 1,000 monthly for undergraduate study and Rs 2,000 for postgraduate study under Nijut Babu. The government will also give Rs 2 lakh each to 793 flood-hit schools in Jorhat, Golaghat, Sivasagar and Charaideo, totalling around Rs 15 crore. A damage survey begins on August 9. The scheme will exclude discollegiate and non-collegiate students.
