Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 has crossed Rs 130 crore worldwide in four days, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The film earned Rs 130.82 crore globally by Day 4, with India gross at Rs 109.02 crore and overseas at Rs 21.80 crore. On its first Monday, the sequel collected Rs 9.25 crore net in India, a 64% drop from Sunday but still strong enough to lead the box office clash with Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947. Batwara 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, saw a disastrous 72% drop on Monday, earning just Rs 2 crore net in India. Its four-day India net stands at Rs 28.50 crore and worldwide gross at Rs 40.20 crore. Hindustan Times reports the gap between the two films has widened, with Awarapan 2 making more than four times Batwara 1947's Monday collection. Trade estimates, cited by Hindustan Times, project Awarapan 2's lifetime India net at Rs 150-160 crore, with potential to reach Rs 200 crore before Yash's Toxic releases in two weeks. Freepressjournal.in notes the film's success as a surprise, given Batwara 1947's stronger cast and gravitas.
