# Emraan Hashmi hints at Awarapan 3 after sequel’s strong opening

Emraan Hashmi has hinted that Awarapan 3 could arrive soon after Awarapan 2 opened strongly in theatres. At a Mumbai screening, the actor told fans, “Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon.” Hindustan Times reports that the sequel earned Rs 22 crore on Friday, ahead of Batwara 1947, which collected Rs 5.75 crore. Koimoi reports that Awarapan 2 ends with Hashmi’s Shivam Pandit handing Aaliyah’s care to Zara, played by Disha Patani, while becoming a slave to Nafisa, played by Shabana Azmi. The cliffhanger leaves Shivam’s story open and suggests Nafisa could drive a third film. Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt.
