Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 has sold over 1.3 lakh tickets worth Rs 4 crore for its opening day, surpassing the lifetime collection of its 2007 predecessor, which earned just Rs 7.7 crore net, reports Hindustan Times. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala told NDTV that Awarapan 2 leads advance sales with 68,000 tickets (Rs 2.20 crore) against Batwara 1947's 37,600, an 81% lead. The Emraan Hashmi film is predicted to open at Rs 13-20 crore net by Sumit Kadel, while Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 may manage Rs 7-9 crore. The two films clash on August 14, Independence Day weekend. Nostalgia drives Awarapan 2, while Batwara 1947 banks on Sunny Deol's mass and family audience connect. Kadel expects Awarapan 2 to win the opening weekend by a 2X margin, with weekend collections possibly hitting Rs 50-60 crore.
