# Awarapan 2 leads Batwara 1947 in early box-office estimates

Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani’s Awarapan 2 opened ahead of Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947 on August 14, according to early trade reports. Pinkvilla put morning occupancy at about 25% for Awarapan 2 and 5% for Batwara 1947. Bollywood Hungama projected Awarapan 2’s first-day net collection at Rs 19 crore to Rs 21 crore, while BollywoodLife reported Rs 0.46 crore net from 742 shows at an earlier point in the day. Advance sales favoured Awarapan 2, which sold 1.25 lakh tickets in PVR Inox and Cinepolis, Pinkvilla reported. BollywoodLife put its gross advance bookings across three major chains at Rs 8.57 crore, with total bookings, including blocked tickets, above Rs 10 crore. Batwara 1947 had estimated advance bookings of Rs 1.76 crore, rising above Rs 4.21 crore with blocked seats.
