# Awarapan 2 opens above Rs. 21 crore, sets Emraan Hashmi record

Awarapan 2 has posted Emraan Hashmi’s biggest opening as a solo lead, according to multiple trade reports. 123telugu estimates the romantic action drama’s first-day India net at Rs. 21 crore, while Pinkvilla puts it at about Rs. 22 crore and Koimoi reports Rs. 23.4 crore. Koimoi also estimates Rs. 29.61 crore in worldwide gross earnings, including Rs. 2 crore overseas. The film, directed by Nitin Kakkar and starring Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, benefited from strong audience interest despite a subdued marketing campaign. Koimoi reports Rs. 11.18 crore in gross advance bookings for the second day, a 30.45% rise over the opening day. The film received 1,878 additional shows, taking its count to 11,000. With Independence Day falling on the second day, Koimoi expects an India net collection of around Rs. 30 crore, though that figure remains a projection. Pinkvilla says the film could cross Rs. 75 crore nett over its opening weekend. The reports differ on the first-day total, so the final trade figure will matter.
