The university said it will approach the government to restrict public vehicles inside the campus. Interim measures include one-way traffic on Gandhi Road, dedicated pedestrian paths, removal of unauthorised shops, and installation of CCTV cameras linked to the city police command centre. The meeting, chaired by vice-chancellor C Shivaraju and attended by DCP (Southwest) Anitha Haddannavar, reviewed speeding and unauthorised parking. Students who stormed a syndicate meeting also demanded a ban on public vehicles and closure of the Nandini outlet inside the campus, which they said attracts unnecessary traffic.
