The 19-year-old from Anupgarh in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district cleared a personal best of 2.21m in Eugene, Oregon, to take silver. Algeria's Younes Ayachi won gold on countback after clearing 2.21m on his first attempt. Meghwal matched the height on his second try, while Britain's Otis Poole took bronze on three attempts. The medal is India's second at the championship, after Ashish Yadav's silver in javelin.
